Pump House Estate, Renforth Street, London, SE16

Base Building Consultancy was instructed by Rendall & Rittner to prepare a specification of works relating to external repairs and decorations required at Pump House, Renforth Street.

The premises comprise a number of separate residential leasehold properties within the Pump House Estate, surrounding a cobbled car parking courtyard area.

Generally, works included local repairs to brickwork, joinery, roof coverings, gutters, lead flashings, and decorations. A specific defect that was identified to be remedied was surface water leaking into the below-ground car park through the courtyard slab.

Base Building Consultancy has vast experience in preparing specifications of work for external repairs and decoration projects on both residential and commercial properties.

We understand that to successfully undertake works of this nature, clear lines of communication are essential, and to achieve this, one of Base Building Consultancy’s directors always leads the design and supervision team.

Base Building Consultancy undertook a detailed survey of the estate and prepared a specification of repair and decoration works. The leaseholders we consulted via the Board of Directors of the Estate and changes made to the specification in accordance with their comments Base Building Consultancy obtained tender prices and reported them to the Board of Directors, making a recommendation for appointment. The supervision of the works was in the form of weekly site attendance, minuted monthly progress meetings, and monthly valuations of completed works.

Base Building Consultancy also provided CDM coordination for the project.
