Base Building Consultancy were instructed by the Freeholder to design a mansard roof extension to be installed at 16 Wilton Crescent, a Grade II listed residential property in Knightsbridge. A complete design package was produced for agreement with the Freeholder and thereafter submitted to Kensington and Chelsea Borough Council for planning consent, listed building and conservation area consent and building control approval.

Concurrent to obtaining the necessary statutory consents Base Building Consultancy prepared a detailed specification of works and obtained costs via competitive tender.

Base Building Consultancy provided contract administration services throughout the project and advised on and dealt with all party wall matters that arose from the works.

Base Building Consultancy undertook a detailed survey of the premises and prepared full planning and building control drawings which were submitted to and approved by K&C Borough Council. Throughout the project close liaison was maintained with the Freeholder regarding nuisance suffered from the works and selection of materials.

Regular progress meetings were held on-site to monitor the quality of the work, control cost via valuations and ensure completion was achieved to the agreed programme.

Base Building Consultancy agreed a Party Wall Award with the adjoining owner at No.15, relating to the structural beams and flashings installed into the party wall.
